Der japanische Autobauer gehört zu den Pionieren beim Vertrieb alternativer Antriebe. Und: Die Nachfrage steigt dem Vernehmen nach rasant an. Jetzt wurde das 150.000stes in Deutschland zugelassene Hybrid-Fahrzeug, ein Toyota C-HR, übergeben. Damit befeuern die Hybridmodelle der Marken Toyota und Lexus das Wachstum des asiatischen Herstellers enorm. Deren Absatz kletterte von Januar bis März 2017 um fast 50 Prozent auf 106.000 Einheiten. Rund 40 Prozent aller in Europa verkauften Fahrzeuge fahren inzwischen mit Hybridantrieb vor, in Westeuropa setzt sogar fast jeder zweite Toyota-Käufer auf die Kombination aus Benzin- und Elektromotor.
